The Archives (2003)

12/25/03 - Happy Holidays, folks! Spend time with your families, and enjoy yourselves!

12/18/03 - New thingie for you all! I've compiled my list of the Top Five Videogame Villains (at least in my humble opinion), and I'm curious to see what some of your thoughts are on them. Keep in mind that I'm not looking at the coolest villains, just the ones that made you detest their very existence!

12/10/03 - I hope you all like the new Holiday logo, because I have to say that I'm pretty happy the way it turned out (though Heather DID make a comment about her cleavage hanging out... I guess she doesn't want the lass to catch a chest cold). Anywho, seems that everything school-related hit me hard this week, so no update... HOWEVER, I will have a new list up here soon! And once it's up here, I want some OPINIONS from you all, dammit! : D

12/02/03 - Who's your daddy? Well, certainly not I... God, I hope not... but at any rate, I still love you all! In fact, my account of Origins/Espercon is READY! Read, and indulge in its geeky goodness!

11/24/03 - Happy Upcoming Turkey Day! Things are a bit lax this week, but I AM pleased to inform you all that my review and write-up of Origins and Espercon is (finally) complete, and will be up here as I get the formatting on the page taken care of. Also, having taken a look at this page on a Mac and a number of other computers, I realize that this sucker comes up looking downright crappy on some systems. There for, I'm going to make it a point to redesign this mofo in the coming weeks... starting at the end of the semester, of course!

11/18/03 - Recovering from the Week o' Nasty has resulted in this update being a bit late, and a tad bit sparse. However, we DO have a new class of Cartoon Disassembly 101 for your perusal. This one's a perennial favorite, that being He-Man. Also, I've been feeling the need to write SOMETHING as of late! I need a project to focus on, dammit!

11/10/03 - Gah! School! Projects! Brain hurting! New episode of Cartoon Disassembly 101 over in Friends! Thundercats and phallic imagery! Read!

11/03/03 - It seems that the management has caught up with The Professor, though his sanity is still somewhat... fractured. At any rate, go, check it out! And hope for a bigger update for next time! I know I am... stupid school and work...

10/23/03 - A few new things for the unwashed masses! First it seems that The Professor has been located, as detailed by this addition in Cartoon Disassembly 101, over in Friends. Here's to hoping his sanity returns by next week. Also, I didn't get a chance to scan those pics yet, but I DO have a comparison sketch for you over in The Gallery. See what sort of difference a couple of years make in a character's development!

10/17/03 - Greetings, my wonderful Club Ninja Disciple(s)! The latest episode of Cartoon Disassembly 101 over in Friends is a  note from The Management in regards to the whereabouts of our Professor, who hasn't quite recovered from his Pokemon rant last week. Also, we've got some reader submissions for the infamous People You Do Not Pick a Fight With in a Martial Arts Flick rant from a few months back! Coming soon- pictures, once I get them scanned!

10/10/03 - If you slide on over to Friends, we've got the next session of Cartoon Disassembly 101 ready, where our favorite Professor takes on the often duplicated and reviled Pokemon. It made him feel dirty, so I hope you bastards are happy! : D

10/02/03 - Most humble apologies for the half-assed update last week, but c'mon! It was the weekend of AWA! As a show of my love to you, my beloved fan base (yes, both of you), I've included some journal entries from this year's Con. Granted it's not the actual con review, but it's just a little blurb to talk about some of this things that went on, and my general mindset during the weekend. Also, we've got the latest episode of Cartoon Disassembly 101, in which our esteemed Professor takes a look at some of the more recent offerings on the animated front. Enjoy, and I'll see you all when I get back from Vegas! Whooooooo!

09/25/03 - ANIME WEEKEND ATLANTA!

09/18/03 - New stuff for your general consumption! First, we've got a new class over for Cartoon Disassembly 101, this one taking on the endearing classic that is The Transformers, as well as Johnny Quest. Also, we have an intro to a new story by yours truly, that being FUTURE. What is The Future? Click and find out, silly mortal!

09/11/03 - What we be having, yo? Well, we've got a few words from Professor Sensou Tora over in the next session of Cartoon Disassembly 101. Also, we've got another challenge (and response) laid down in Dogs of War as well. And one final sidenote, I've got an intro to a new story to throw up here sometime as well. As soon as I work out some layout and formatting issues, that sucker will be up here... don't be surprised to catch a little ninja-update this week : )

09/04/03 - More destruction for your delicate psyches! Galen has written another installment of Cartoon Disassembly101, this one striking at a long-time favorite, that being GI Joe. Read it, and go home crying to mama!

08/28/03 - Quickie update here... first we've got a sketch of a work in progress, than being a cutesy Chibi-Natalie... still needs to be touched up here and there, and it'll probably be shrunk down some, but here's how the progress is coming along. Also, we have Session 2 of Cartoon Disassembly 101 over in Friends, and no punches are pulled this week either. Galen takes on both The Smurfs and Winnie the Pooh. Read at your own risk. Ye have been warned!

08/21/03 - Seems the Dogs of War have been busy as of late! This week's update involves TC laying out a challenge to yours truly in Smackdown!, due to a series of bouts that took place this past Sunday. Also, over in Friends, Uncle Galen (aka Tigrr) takes us to school in the first episode of Cartoon Disassembly 101, where he breaks down Super Friends and Scooby-Doo... prepare to have your memories desecrated.

08/14/03 - Taking a look through my notes, I came across something that I wanted to put up here a looooong time ago... we witness the return of Character of the Week as we profile Kobi, who came very close to actually being my main character in Realmwalkers back in the day! Random sidenote- he was actually supposed to be the first ever CotW, but I simply lost track of the pic a while back. Who loves you, baby? : )

08/08/03 - I'm out the door in a couple of minutes, but I'd just like to point out that there is a quick little addition over in Dogs of War, detailing with a potential newcomer in our midst. It's brief and not very pretty, but feel free to check it out!

07/30/03 - Let's hope this update stays up! Apologies for the skipped week, but it seems that the AHQ servers are experiencing some upgrades, and it was advised to me not to update, since there's a chance that it wouldn't actually show up. Anywho, we're back in action. I've thrown together a simple, yet effective potential design to go on a shirt, inspired by the infamous Geeks vs. Fanboys discussion, and subsequent Fandom Overload tirade that followed. I think I might have to have this on a shirt come AWA this year : )

07/17/03 - No new stuff this week, but just some general housekeeping around the joint. It came to my attention that I didn't have a link set up for my chronicles through Final Fantasy Origins, so we now have one set up in The Library. Also, there's now a section for The Firebrand Files as well. Another good week and a half of classes to go this summer!

07/10/03 - BUSY! SCHOOL! SUCKTITUDE! I'm hoping that things slow down a bit, and that I actually get a chance to get some stuff together for an update next week!

07/03/03 - Happy Early 4th of July! I'm feeling good and inspired, so there's a couple of projects in the works. But in the meantime, enjoy your day! Expect an account of Espercon and Origins up here soon!

06/26/03 - I'll be up in Ohio in a matter of hours for Origins, so no update this week. My apologies to my legions upon legions of fans! Though expect an account of what goes on this weekend!

06/19/03 - We got us an update, dammit! A couple of things this time... first, we've got Fandom Overload, a response to my convention guide written earlier, compiled from a random conversation with me and Galen. Also we've got Chapter 3 of the Aerialcons saga in Friends, written by TC. And last but not least, we've got a bit of a warning for a little project that Galen and TC are working on. Be afraid, mortals!

06/12/03 - Stuff! First, we've got a new piece for The Gallery which was actually completed last week, but not in time for the update. Another Photoshop project, this time with Ms. Abigail Summers from Glenshire Abbey as the subject. I didn't get a chance to complete the next interview yet (week one of classes is always a bit hectic), but we'll have a teaser for a feature that Galen and TC are working on up here VERY soon!

06/05/03 - What have we got, what have we got? First off, we've completed the first leg of the journey in Final Fantasy Origins, so we've got an update over there for the current state of things. Also, we have a new feature here, that being The Firebrand Files; it started off as a bit of a joke when I had Natalie interviewing me a while back, but thanks to some prodding, I've decided to make it a regular feature here at Club Ninja. Natalie's first guest is none other than Cain Harlocke. Here's to hoping that I can at least make this a bimonthly thing!

05/29/03 - Not much this week, but we've got something new in The Library, that being an introduction to the world of Glenshire Abbey. For those of you that don't recall, Glenshire was the RPG campaign that I was running with a few friends. Time off next week should equal a more substantial update, but I have been wrong before!

05/22/03 - Showcasing more talent this week! We have the second chapter of Galen's Return of the MGH up in Friends, along with the prelude for his next project, Dragonball Z vs. Street Fighter. I almost had another Photoshop project up this week, but I learned a valuable lesson; artwork done with a graphite stick doesn't scan very cleanly. Back to the pencils, alas...

05/15/03 - I am not a total swine! I've got stuff this week! First, we have a new pic in The Gallery, simply titled Cain Harlocke Does Not Like You... it started off as a simple sketch, and it just evolved from there. Also, since I'm still currently in leveling-up mode in Final Fantasy Origins, I decided to post a little update on things, as told through the eyes of Joy, the White Mage. Enjoy, my people!

05/08/03 - Not much new this week, alas. Still haven't had a chance to make any more progress in Final Fantasy Origins (mainly due to D-Mob still continuously handing me my ass in Def Jam Vendetta), but I hope to remedy that soon!

05/01/03 - Well, I'm back playing Origins again, but I haven't made enough progress to warrant another update on that front; however, rest assured that I'll be having some fun at the expense of the Elves in the near future. In other news, however, we've got another fanfic in Friends by TC, this one being several parts to a Transformers story he's working on. Go forth and check it out!

04/24/03 - I throw out my Busy Card, and blame everything on classes and work this week. Oh, that, and Heather being in town last weekend. But I still mainly blame work and school. They reek. Heather, on the other hand, does not reek. Anywho, no new stuff this week, alas... hopefully I'll get some more time in on Final Fantasy Origins and post some more of that up here soon.

04/16/03 - Busy! However, we do have an update of our party's progress in Final Fantasy. We've just jacked the pirates of Pravoka for their ship! Read on and enjoy!

04/10/03 - And we're back! There's actually something new this time, that being a little account of me going through the original Final Fantasy, thanks to Final Fantasy Origins being released earlier this week. Not trying to make it a straight commentary on events of the game, it's been spliced with what I think the characters in my party are thinking at various points in the game... it'll be continually updated as I proceed through the game, so keep your eyes on it! Also, Return of the MGH now has a disclaimer, just in case you're the sensitive sort. Enjoy!

04/03/03 - Ugh... Mani be sick and stuff... no real update this week, alas and alack. Hoping to have stuff next week. Nyquil is Mani's friend... sweet, beautiful Nyquil, how I've missed thee...

03/26/03 - With the Student Art Show coming up, I've been a bit distracted as of late, mainly trying to focus on getting things together for that. However, we've got another quick comment in Dogs of War, and we have a new story in Friends! This one comes from Galen, and while it does deal with the whole Magical Girl Hunters universe, it's actually a sequel to the RPG campaign we used to run a while back. Check it out, and enjoy!

03/18/03 - I've learned something this week, that being that I am most easily distracted when I'm supposed to be working on something else! That little one-shot I've been working on might get delayed a bit because I might be working on another one! Sometimes a character sketch just demands a back story... if it's any consolation, it's based on one of the CotW's! I've got some free time this weekend, so I'm hoping to be able to actually get some stuff done. Oh, and before I get, Galen has posted a desperate cry for help for his waning sanity over in Dogs of War. He's actually back online now, which has helped it tremendously! Wheee!

03/12/03 - First off, the webcounter didn't want to act right, so I got rid of that mofo! But what we do have here is my latest Photoshop project, that being some of the crew of Glenshire Abbey, the RPG campaign that I'm currently running. More stuff to come!

03/04/03 - Let's see what we have here... for starters, you'll notice that I've finally grown a pair, and decided to add a webcounter to the page. Now I can truly see how many people come through here on a regular basis, and weep accordingly! Also, we have our first contribution to the Friends section, that being the beginning of Magical Girl Hunters of Atlanta, a series by my bud TC. Also speaking of the dude, I've added his persona's pic to the Dogs of War. I think the next thing I'm going to add to that is going to be pseudo-profiles for each of us... I'm still working on the mysterious one-shot I mentioned last week, and work is still progressing on the Glenshire Abbey Photoshop experiment. With the free time I've got this week, I'm bound to get SOMETHING done! And one last observation... unless I miss my guess, I do believe that this particular incarnation of Club Ninja will be celebrating its one year anniversary this April! I've got to plan something for this...

02/25/03 - School! I blame school! Not much of an update this week, but I HAVE begun a couple of new projects... the first is a one-shot starring one of the CotW's. Which one, you ask? Well, I can't tell you just yet, but I will say that I compiled a list of characters and began to weigh pros and cons... while I'm not going to say yet who it is per-say, I can tell you that it's between K-Ball, Lazer Man, Tara Blackwell, and Cain Harlocke. And in other news, I'm working on another Photoshop Experiment, this one with a few NPC's from the RPG campaign I was running. We'll see how the week treats me.

02/19/03 - Quick, sneaky ninja-update this week. Seeing as I'm out the door in a couple of minutes, I'll make this brief... over in Dogs of War, you'll find my recent account of me entering Cain Harlocke into the Royal Rumble in Smackdown!, and the pain that it caused him... hopefully I'll have more randomness up here for the next update!

02/12/03 - Not much coming up this week, alas... there's finally a section for Wandering Word in The Library now, along with the previously posted stats and chapter for Dexter Kincaid available for your perusal. I didn't get a chance to complete my tale of woe with Cain, but hopefully I'll get that done soon. Keep your eyes open!

02/04/03 - What we be having here, yo? Well, we've got three new things, actually. First we have another Photoshop experiment in The Gallery, this one coming from an older pic of everyone's favorite realmwalking ninja Mani. Also, I managed to dig up an article I wrote a while back for AHQ, which has yet to be posted... I decided to give you, my loyal fan base (now up to three!) a sneak preview; Check out Mani's Guide to Attending Conventions over in The Library! And finally, we have a minor update on the current state of things in Dogs of War. Coming Soon: I finally posted my intro chapter for Dexter Kincaid for Wandering Word, so that will be up here soon. Also coming soon to Dogs of War is a personal tale of woe involving Smackdown, the Royal Rumble, Cain Harlocke, and The Undertaker...

01/28/03 - Friends, Romans, Countrymen, and the rest of you as well! I know we just started things out in the Dogs of War, but it seems that we'll have to go on hiatus for a bit, as Galen (AKA Sen Tora) will be returning home to South Carolina for a couple of months in order to train for his new job. He will be missed, and we anxiously await his glorious return to our fair city. He did, however, leave one final message, which can be located over in Dogs of War. Also, it seems that good old Prometheus has risen from the ashes of insane work schedules, and has not only updated his LiveJournal, but has taken the opportunity to take a jab at me and Character of the Week... I'm thinking that I'm going to have to go back to work on that now... *smirk*

01/21/03 - Many apologies about this update getting up later than normal... it's been that kind of week. But all is well now, and once I have some time to do stuff, we'll have some new media up in here. I'm still heavily pondering doing a write-up for our RPG exploits (there's actually an NPC in the campaign that some of you might recognize!), but we'll have to see how time treats me this week. : )

01/13/03 - And we're back! The server's been having some problems of late, but I can assure you that both Animation HQ and Club Ninja are still alive and kicking! So let's see what's new here... well, you might have noticed that the sidebar looks a bit different, and we have a new section! Dogs of War, which is pretty much handled by Galen, is a chronicle of me and his current videogame war. You'll find accounts of our two most recent bouts, as well as a new challenger entering the fray. Enjoy!

01/06/03 - Happy Freaking New Year! Most humble apologies for my lack of an update last week... things were beyond hectic, so I decided to take a week off. But I have stuff to make up for it! First off, we have FOUR new pictures in The Gallery! Go forth and examine as I experiment with a new drawing technique! Also, we've got TWO random lists to The Library that are open to suggestions and revisions by you, my adoring public (yes, both of you). Check out Geeks Vs. Fanboys, and People You Do Not Pick a Fight With in a Martial Arts Movie. Who says I don't love you all! : D
