12 | 28 | 04 - Holy
crud, is it the end of the year already? Work is still going on with the
next installment of The Riddle of Dark, but I do have something
new for The Gallery to tide you over. This is
also going up on the Lazer
Enterprises page, but here's a quick glimpse of what the background
of the cover to Glenshire Abbey might look like. I'm trying to
decide if I should leave it as-is, add some mountains to the background,
or some clouds to the sky. I'm open to opinions on this one. Enjoy the
rest of the holiday season, and I'll see you all next year! Here's to
hoping that 2005 is even brighter for you all!
12 | 02 | 04 - It's the end of the semester crunch, which explains the later-than-normal update. Just to give you all a head's-up, I HAVE been working on the next chapter of The Riddle of Dark, so if all goes well, we'll see that up here for the next update. Also, we've got another Photoshop Experiment for you all, this one testing out a tutorial I located for making a parchment-looking texture. I decided to test it out with the mystery sketch from last week, that being of an Orcish female that popped up in some of my Glenshire character designing. I'm thinking about employing some variation of the parchment texture to the actual cover to Glenshire Abbey, so I'm testing it out and seeing what I can do with it. And for the record, do you have any idea how difficult it is to draw a female Orc? I wanted her to look strong, but retain some semblance of femininity. I'll make it a point to post the full sketch of her up here at some point. Also, another head's-up: it seems that my FTP program is not only Shareware, but exhibits a nice little timer function that prohibits me from doing any uploading after a certain length of time. Here's to hoping I can get that resolved before the next update... 11 | 13 | 04 - Well the verdict is in... thanks to those of you that voted, not in this past Presidential Election (but we still salute you for doing your civic-minded duty!), but in the Club Ninja survey posted up a few weeks back. And the winner is... THE RIDDLE OF DARK! Thanks to those of you that voted, and for telling me what the heck to get back to work on. I've also got a few random sketches of some folks from Glenshire Abbey scanned, but I haven't had an opportunity to clean them up as yet. That should be taken care of in the very near future, so keep your eyes open for those. There's one that needs major cleanup, but here's a quick sketch of everyone's favorite priestess-in-training Abigail Summers that came out pretty decent.10 | 28 | 04 - It's been a busy couple of weeks, so I apologize in advance for the lack of new stuff. HOWEVER, you can help change that! As mentioned last update, I have a little survey that I would like the lot of you (yes you, my adoring public... hello...?) to take a look at. I'm feeling the need to do some writing again, and I'd like for you all to help me narrow things down a bit. It's democracy in action, baby! 10 | 11 | 04 - Well, I'm pleased to finally have everything moved over to the new computer (aside from a few miscellaneous programs), which took me long enough, I'm sure. We've got a massive update up at Lazer Enterprises in regards to Glenshire Abbey, including a new Media Gallery and the aforementioned pics of us living it up at AWA X a few weeks ago. I'm hoping to get a more coherent mailing list together for the Glenshire project, so stay tuned for more info on that. Also, expect a survey to be up here for the next update... I'm looking to get some opinions on what to write about, since it's been a while since I've actually had new content for The Library =) 09 | 15 | 04 - Clean up time! With most of the stuff from the old computer finally transferred to the new, I think I'll be doing some tweaking here and there for these next couple of weeks. Also, with Anime Weekend Atlanta coming up next week, and me being in Mississippi the following weekend, updates will probably be a little scarce these next couple of weeks (well, more so). Be warned!08 | 31 | 04 - OK, so things have been a teensy bit hectic around these parts as of late... fear my no-updating mojo! Anywho, there's two more Glenshire Abbey related sketches in The Gallery. First up is Bryce Farrington, a half-elf Senior level student that serves as a bit of a mentor to the party. Next we have Dole Ramages, Gnome Alchemist Extraordinaire- in his words, "Never pick a fight with a Gnome, especially one with access to chemicals." Truer words have never been spoken... 08 | 13 | 04 - It's been a busy couple of weeks, but things have finally settled down enough to get an update done. First off, there's a quick little blurb of an update over at Lazer Enterprises involving a few random thoughts and announcements. Also, there's been some slight reorganizing in The Gallery (more recent stuff is towards the front of the respective sections, and Nadia's topless thumbnail now has a bar over her boobies), along with a new Glenshire related sketch. No matter how bad things get, always remember that Abby loves you. =) 07 | 30 |04 - Oh man, it's been a while. The Weeks of Ugliness have passed by, and I never have to draft anything again! HA! Anywho, we've finally added a section for Glenshire Abbey over on the Lazer homepage... check out the links, and pick up some general information about the project thus far!07 | 09 | 04 - Quick Glenshire Update- THE CHECK HAS CLEARED! =) Now that the finances are taken care of, we should be getting back the signed copy of the contract, and we can't get much more official than that! Keep your eyes on the Lazer Enterprises page, as it should be live and opened in the VERY near future! 06 | 28 | 04 - Late update, yes, and for that I apologize! At the request of a curious friend of mine, I made an attempt to construct a chart detailing who's gotten the majority of the Random Quotes in since Club Ninja has been around, and while I did lay out the groundwork, the execution looked a bit iffy. Nonetheless, I'm hoping to have that done up for the next update. Also, the contract for Glenshire Abbey has come our way, and in a matter of days, we'll be good to go! In the immortal words of Ali G., BOOYAKASHA! =D 06 | 14 | 04 - I'm not entirely certain when will this update see the light of day, as the Animation HQ server has been quite wonky these past few days (a few of you might have even seen that little hacked message a few days ago, which has thusly been resolved). As I feared, there's not much new on this end, HOWEVER, I am pleased to announce that Lazer Enterprises is up and running! Well, it's up at least, seeing as I've got the big old Coming Soon sign on there as of right now... anywho, work is still progressing nicely in regards to Glenshire Abbey, and we're awaiting the final details as far as the contract situation goes. Patience, patience... all in due time! 06 | 03 | 04 - For starters, I'm sure you all (yes, both of you) are wondering what's up with this week's update, seeing as there isn't much in the Me At A Glance section above. That pretty much sums up things as of late, which I'll explain in just a moment. First, we actually have some new stuff in The Gallery! After picking up another art book by Luis Rojo about a week ago, I began experimenting with my style somewhat. Check out sketches of the ladies Elizabeth, Judith, Nadia [Warning! Quite Topless!], and Michelle. Also, there's a quick 5-7 minute sketch of Cain that I threw together at work last night, waiting to close for the evening. And second, the big news. Well, before that, an apology. For the past few months, I haven't been adding stuff to Club Ninja like I would like to have been. That's because most of my time and energy's been directed towards another project, one that's just taken a MAJOR step towards coming to fruition. As some of you may be aware, the good folks over at Guardians of Order have a program by the name of Magnum Opus, which allows the slovenly masses (like myself) to have an opportunity to publish a supplement to any of their Tri-Stat products. Well, as of yesterday, we've gotten approval to publish Glenshire Abbey! For those of you unaware, Glenshire Abbey was the campaign that I was running with a few friends a while back, and if you'd like to get up to speed, here's a quick little blurb from The Library. The contract details still need to be worked out, but I felt that it was time to pass on that information to you all. You have no idea how hard it was to keep a lid on that for this long... *whew* Who loves ya, baby? =D 05 | 24 | 04 - I'm still working on that last part of the AWA review, but it's not quite done just yet, alas. Also, I'm hoping that the computer doesn't die on me this week, so if I happen to vanish for a few days, that's more than likely the reason why. Let's hope that it doesn't come to that!05 | 15 | 04 - It's Saturday, and I have a day off! I couldn't tell you the last Saturday that I've had off without specifically requesting it! Anywho, you'll be pleased to know that work is progressing nicely on the Saturday and Beyond portion of last year's AWA review, which I'm hoping to have up here by next update. Hey, I'm an optimist! 05 | 05 | 04 - It's Cinco de Mayo, and I'm sober! What's up with that? Anyway, many apologies for my hiatus these past couple of weeks, as I really did need to take some time off and get things squared away. I managed to do some minor housecleaning around The Library, mainly adding in a few miscellaneous links here and there. Now that the semester's over, and things are slowing down at work, I have some semblance of free time again! And there was much rejoicing! *yay* 04 | 14 | 04 - First off, many apologies for the late update this week. School has officially stabbed me, twisted the knife slowly, then kicked me in the nads for good measure. Next week might not be much better, so if I miss that update, assume that I'm taking a slight hiatus. Nothing too serious, mind you, but hey, a brother's gotta rest! 04 | 03 | 04 - Apologies for the lack of an update this week, but things have been too hectic as of late to even think about trying to get anything done around here. I'll see about scanning a few random sketches this week and getting them up here for the next update. Please don't hurt me! 03 | 26 | 04 - Guess what? The Friday portion of my AWA 2K3 Report is posted up in The Library! Who's the man?! I'm Mani, beyatch! 03 | 19 | 04 - So, what's this Long Overdue Project you mentioned last week? Well, I just have to work out the formatting, but I've finally gone and completed the Friday portion of my AWA 2K3 Report! Hopefully I can get it done and toss out a quick Ninja-Update, but if not, you'll have that sucker by next week! I've also had a request for another feature on Club Ninja, which I'll be getting worked out as well. Stay tuned! 03 | 12 | 04 - We've got a new logo! Check out The Library to see the latest in the updated logos, this one being none other than Lazer Man, who was featured in CotW a while back. I still need to change the format of the page itself, but that's coming soon. Also, this week I got a chance to get back to work on a long overdue project... more on that later. 03 | 05 | 04 - Spring Break next week, and I've got no plans! That means that I'll be able to get SOMETHING done by next update! Fear my lack of a social life, heathens! 02 | 27 | 04 - Sooner or later, I'm actually going to get some semblance of a real update done... bleh to classes! BLEH! 02 | 20 | 04 - The Week of Hell has begun! With a test looming on Tuesday, and a massive Graphic Design project due Thursday, things might get a little slack around here for a few days. Ok, more so than usual. Man, why do all of these Northern Renaissance artists have to have such strange and similar names... 02 | 13 | 04 - Don't hate me! It's been busy! I've GOT to squeeze in some time to get something done around this place... I haven't even begun with the overhaul of The Library, but I will! Soon, I tell you, soon! 02 | 05 | 04 - Ninja-update! Some of you might not know this, but there's another birthday today. Realmwalkers, baby! To celebrate, we have the beginning of a NEW (and somewhat darker) RW storyline over in The Library. There's not much to it now, but go forth and read the first chapter of The Riddle of Dark! Happy Birthday to me, and Happy Birthday Realmwalkers! 02 | 03 | 04 - Tired, still sick, and pretty busy. Yes, I suck. But I've figured out what the next bit of housekeeping's going to be around here, as I've decided to touch up in The Library next. I'll be streamlining the design a bit, and changing some of the formatting in a few of the chapters as well (that red-on-black combo that I use for most of Mani's chapters is downright jarring at times!). Anywho, it'll be subtle for now, but I'm working on it! 01 | 25 | 04 - The sickness! The sickness! I blame it all on the sickness! Hopefully I'll be recuperated by next week... bleh... 01 | 18 | 04 - Slowly but surely... we've got Phase One of the new version of The Gallery up and running now. It's still a work in progress (I plan on adding some commentary on some of the pieces) and somewhat smaller than before, but I'm going with a less-is-more sort of approach. Or something. Oh, just look at it, dammit! It's got thumbnails now! 01 | 11 | 04 - Apologies for the later-than-usual update, for it really has been that kind of week. I didn't get a chance to do much around the joint, but TC has sent me his own Top Ten Things Learned In 2003. Funny and insightful stuff as always from The Shadow Dragon himself. Enjoy! 01 | 02 | 04 - Happy New Year! I hope that the yearly transaction went sanely for each of you. In the meantime, you'll be witnessing the evolution of Club Ninja over these next few weeks. If all goes well I'll be debuting a new design a week for the rest of the site. Until then, however, the old pages will be up. And as a celebration for another year on this Earth, I've compiled a list entitled What 2003 Has Taught Me. It's 21 random points and thoughts stemming from my experiences over the past year; heck, from life in general. If any of you want to send in a list of your own, feel free to do so. Here's to another year of randomness!
