Darren began to speak with Krieg, and as he did so Natalie noticed that the rest of the mercs in the group also wore the black armbands, but the designs differed on each. She recognized each- between the group, there were representatives of Gaia, Tiamat, and Aquaria, all cities that housed the Elemental Gems at one time. "Are there any more from Kari with you?," Natalie wondered. 

The elf maiden, who bore the symbol of Tiamat on her arm, nodded enthusiastically. "Captain Marlowe is, along with the two lieutenants." 

Natalie blinked. "-Eliza- Marlowe?," she wondered, to which the elf nodded again. "Wow," she remarked as she raised her brows. "I never had Eliza pegged as being a merc captain..."

Talk about being nipped in the bud... 

Eliza Marlowe. She's only mentioned this one time in all of Realmwalkers continuity, but she was destined to play a very major role in the life and times of Ms. Natalie Firebrand. Her presence was to be felt in the very next chapter, which alas, was never to be written due to the eventual death of the RPG.

So who the heck is she?

Well, like Natalie and Darren, she was a survivor from when Martosa's general Grendel attacked the city of Kari several years ago. Eliza was the daughter of one of Kari's more prominent Senators, which if you recall Natalie being the daughter of the village Elder, meant that the two would run into each other on occasion. And they did not like each other in the least. Growing up, Eliza was a bit of a spoiled brat, which as I'm sure you can imagine, mixed like oil and water with with Natalie's tomboyish tendencies. Add to the fact that their respective parents were also fierce political rivals, and you can see that these two did not get along very well, or for very long.

Fast forward a few years, to the current timeframe.

Eliza is now the captain of a mercenary unit by the name of The Elementals, filled with surviving members of the villages that housed the elemental gems before Grendel laid claim to them. Specializing in demon hunting, they currently happen to be in New Malstron, which at last check, was also the current stomping grounds of Natalie and company. Nat has made contact with the company already, but she hasn't met Eliza yet. What is to become of when these two forces meet again?

Random, Juicy Tidbit: If you read that last Natalie chapter, then you might recall a young man from Natalie's past by the name of Kevin, who serves as one of the company's lieutenants. As we've gathered, the two had a bit of a past together. Well, guess what? Eliza also has a more-recent past with him as well. Badadadum!!

The Future: Well, I'm still working on Realmwalkers chapters, and since I really don't have to keep continuity anymore, I've got a bit more freedom to play with. Originally there was to be a cowritten endeavor that took our heroes on a trip back to Sukata, but since I'm solo again, I'm going to stick with my original plan, that being a story arc involving the mysterious Kaiser Dark. Things are about to get very interesting.
