Name:
Mei-Lynn Zhang
Realm of Origin: Evandalis
First Appearance: Natalie 5
"Being the hyperactive, tomboy daughter of a high ranking executive of probably the wealthiest company in the known universe has certain advantages. If there was something I wanted to try, it wasn't difficult for daddy-dearest to make it happen."
-- Natalie 8
Mei-Lynn's a complicated girl. When she's not hanging with Natalie and company, flirting, or appearing nearly
butt-assed naked in bad
computer-colored drawings, she's either handling business or delivering a royal beat-down to some unfortunate soul. You'd think that she'd be some pampered rich girl, but Mei-Lynn loves getting her hands dirty and doing things. She has a zeal for life and for everything it entails, the sort of girl that'll try anything once. Or twice.
She hooked up with Natalie and company during an unfortunate run-in with agents of Dark Dance in New Evandalis, in which a club was nearly destroyed, and several people ended up getting beaten most savagely. It wasn't a pretty affair, but Mei-Lynn stayed with the group, and at last check, was still a part of the party once they made their way to New Malstron. How she adjusts to the quaint life of New Malstron, however, remains to be seen.
The Blade of Yoshima: When I did the first sketch of Mei-Lynn years ago, one of my cousins fell in love with her design, and used her as the basis for Princess Mei-Lynn in
The Blade of Yoshima, an idea that we concocted that blended in some elements of Lodoss War, with Dragon Ball Z. We didn't get much done with the project, but I
did happen to find a few of our old character sketches. I might throw a few of the revamped character designs up here sometime.
Taskforce: One of the ideas I've been fleshing out is that of Realmwlkers:
Taskforce, and Mei-Lynn takes a pretty prominent role with things. The concept behind
Taskforce is that a private organization is formed to deal with the menace of Martosa and her armies on worlds that have already fallen, or were currently under siege. The main enemies that I had in mind were members of the Suzaku Syndicate, a nice little collection of criminal badasses from all over the multiverse. Mei-Lynn is not only the group's main
financial backer, but also their unofficial leader; while not exactly a field agent, she would be the one calling the shots.
Go Ahead, Ask: As mentioned in the profile of Lotus
Albrook, yes, there was some sort of relationship between the two young ladies. That's right, Mei-Lynn's bisexual, and you know you love it, you dirty little freaks.
The Future: I like Mei-Lynn. She's an interesting character, she's fun to write, and she's fun to draw... what else could I ask for? She'll get more exposure (not that kind... well, maybe a little) come
Taskforce, but I'm sure she'll pop up in a project or two down the line. I'll try to keep a handle on the number of half-naked pictures of her I draw, just in case any of you were worried about that.
