What 2006 Has Taught Me

Take a chance. If it works out, wonderful. If not, understand what went wrong.

Money is one of the leading causes of amnesia.

No matter how good you are, there's always someone better. This should not be a deterrent, but rather something to aspire to.

On any given day, anyone can be the better man.

Consider all of the possibilities.

Do something each day that makes you happy.

Be accountable for all of your actions.

Be mindful of your bitching; it's not fair to overburden someone with all of your woes.

If you act like an idiot, don't be surprised when someone treats you like one.

There's nothing wrong with taking a moment to relax.

Don't insult someone's intelligence- people are more observant than we give them credit for.

Men- reclaim your masculinity. Women- stop encouraging sissy-bitch men.

Trust others, but rely on yourself.

Never buy something that you're afraid of using.

I have a hard time taking anyone with a grill, a neck tattoo, a polo with a flipped-up collar, or a pink shirt seriously. God help you if you have all four.

Be wary of anyone that has to be the center of attention, or can only talk about themselves and their own actions.

Test your limits from time to time.

Never underestimate the therapeutic power of ranting.

Be able to back up your arguments. You'd be surprised as to how many people can't.

Never underestimate the ego's capacity for committing random acts of stupid.

If you are an elitist, then you are a dick. There are no exceptions.

Never think that you're too old to dream.

Saying something that goes over everyone else's head could mean that you possess wisdom. Or, it could mean that you're pretentious. Make sure to know the difference.

Respect is earned, not given.

Never let your success hinge on someone else's failure.

We really aren't as clever as we think we are.

If you can't remember why you're carrying a grudge, then maybe it's time to put it down.

Challenge yourself daily- ask yourself, "What am I doing to make my dreams come true?"
