"The Assassin"
Mani's Remarks: "...and this is the version of Little Red Riding Hood who proceeds to kick the crap out of the Big Bad Wolf, shortly before taking his pelt and wearing it as a trophy! Well, not really, but I just can't help but think of Lil' Red when I glance at that cloak of hers. Actually, she falls into that category of 'Who the hell is she?', because she's not from any of my usual locales or stories. I know it's surprising, but sometimes a character of mine doesn't have an elaborate back story behind her! What can I say; sometimes you just want to draw a woman with a weapon that looks like it could make the devil cry if brandished in his presence." Random Sidenote: "The original inspiration behind this character is actually my old friend known to most of you as Sword Girl that I've made mention to here and there on the site. When I originally planned this sketch, it was going to be a fantasy-influenced pic of her and another mutual friend of ours. While I had some issues getting our friend's afro to look right, I was pretty happy with Sword Girl's avatar here. I recall at the time that, while wanting to do some more sketch work for it, I was also a little anxious to test out the Stylus, which was brand new at the time. It started out pretty slow, and eventually it was relegated to my growing collection of unfinished pieces. During my recent digging excursion, I came across the half-completed version and decided to start from scratch to redo it. I'm more meticulous about cleaning up artwork nowadays, but all-in-all, I dig it. Now I need to see if I can track down those sketches of our afro'd lady friend..."
