"Deliah of Glenshire Abbey"
Mani's Remarks: "Ah, little Ms. Deliah... where to begin, where to begin? Deliah is another student from Glenshire Abbey, one of those NPC's that just popped up randomly and became a reoccurring character. She came about during the Trifecta tournament, where Keldan Rye (Snead's character) was looking for a couple of magic-users to be on his team. He specifically mentioned wanting to see if he could find a Gnomish mage (since, by their very nature, would be a trickster like himself), and soon ran into team captain Wraith, and Deliah here of the team The Untouchables. Now, while I did have a list of potential teammates made up should the guys go recruiting, what the group didn't realize at the time is that I actually made Deliah up on the fly, as I had NO FREAKING CLUE that anyone would be looking for a Gnomish trickster mage! =) Somewhere between flirting shamelessly with Snead's character, one rather memorable encounter from the tournament, and the uttering of the phrase 'Don't make me Mage Hand-Bitchslap you from the other side of the school', we found Deliah popping up in more and more campaigns, and soon became one of the core members of Snead's running crew. She still continues to flirt shamelessly and come up with creative uses of Mage Hand spell to this day. Out of everything in this picture, the thing that I'm most proud of is that table, in particular the texture. Though I did use one for the background, I don't like using a lot of the ones that come with Photoshop, since they can make a drawing look artificial in a heartbeat. Nothing was really grabbing my attention, so I started a new layer, took a look at my computer desk, and just went to work. I have to say that I'm pleased with the way that turned out." Random Sidenote: "That 'memorable encounter' that I mentioned earlier? Here's the story... In my original sketch work for this drawing, I had a variety of things in mind for what Deliah was doing with her outstretched hand. The original concept was to have her using the Mage Hand spell to either grab a snack or a scroll, but the orb kind of came about as another joke from that little encounter from the tournament. In playing Trifecta, there are three teams of three members each competing on the field at the time, and the goal is to gather three randomly scattered orbs, and return them to the base. This particular match saw The Untouchables facing off against a team of rather explosive-happy mages, and a trio of Orcs (with Keith's character Khanjar as a defender). Thanks to a misfired spell, there ends up being a massive crater in part of the field, right where an orb just landed. Deliah makes a mad dash to the crater and snags the orb, but is immediately followed by Luxina, a rather large Orcish female, with an even larger war hammer. Though no one can see what is going on, everyone can hear the sounds of a massive brawl taking place down below. As the GM, I'm rolling dice to see what is going on down there, and unfortunately, Deliah ends up taking a NASTY hit from Luxina. The next thing the players hear is the defiant cry of 'GIVE LUXINA ORB!!', followed immediately by poor Deliah getting uppercut right out of the hole! Needless to say, that took her out of the game for a few rounds. Another one of the MANY running jokes from that campaign. =) "
