Mani's Remarks: "This picture presented a unique challenge, simply because it was a scanned pencil sketch as opposed to being inked beforehand. Thankfully the line work was dark, so I still had good outlines to work with. I still had to clean up an ungodly amount of stray marks, though, so the experience has taught me to appreciate the benefits of having an inked drawing. Not to be confused with a dwarf in cahoots with Snow White by the same name, Doc here is one of the Gnomes that hangs out in the alchemy lab at Glenshire Abbey. The running joke for several of our gaming sessions was that there was always a Gnome passed out on the couch in the lab whenever someone would go to visit it. They actually managed to wake him up during an attack on the school, and since then he's been a semi-reoccurring character. No one knows his real name- in fact, 'Doc' is short for 'Dude On the Couch', which is what everyone called him for a good while. The name was also a little nod towards Def Jam Vendetta: Fight For New York. Those of you that have played it know that Redman's character (AKA 'Doc') spent the first 50% of the game laid out on the couch..." Random Sidenote: "Here's a little Glenshire trivia for you all. Doc is actually one of the top alchemists in the school, rivaling even his mentor Dole. His rank in the pecking order of the program is pretty high, as is evidenced by the little medallion around his neck. Only the most brilliant (and brazen) of alchemists earn it- the running joke in the program is that in order for one to be a truly prolific alchemist, he (or she) definately needs an extra pair of... ...well, you get the idea =) "
