"The Green Faerie Ball"
[ Photoshop Over Ink ]

Mani's Remarks: "Another Glenshire Abbey related piece. This was actually the first one I tackled using the new Stylus, so I was still trying to figure out my technique and get adjusted to the freedom that sucker gave me. I originally was going to show this one as a full-colored piece, but was having some issues getting the lighting to look like that of a club setting. I'm trying to figure out when and why I actually decided to make this a flyer for the so-called Green Faerie Ball (maybe I caught a glimpse of Moulin Rouge on my DVD rack or something), but once the idea was there, it wouldn't leave. I decided to drop the green tint to it, but was a little upset that it covered up the coloring job I did on the Elf maiden up front. I was particularly fond of the wings, but alas and alack...

Now, I've had people ask me about all of the references on the flyer, so here we go...

1) Donovan Semedi is a reoccurring character in the campaign that not only was recently revealed to be one of the Five Lords of the New Illordia (AKA The Bad Guys), but has also made a bid for power that could possibly make him the Big Bad Guy (TM) of the campaign now.

2) 'The Rites of Sulienne' is a celebration of the goddess Sulienne, patron deity of fertility.

3) 'The Empire' is a club in Kaleigh, the capitol city of the province in which Glenshire Abbey is located. It is most widely known for hosting various theme parties from time to time.

4) I've always joked that if I started mixing, I'd call myself DJ Tarrasque. I'm sure you D&D players out there caught the reference."

Random Sidenote: "Out of all of the folks here, the one that people get the biggest kick out of is the little Gnome in the bottom-right corner with the glow sticks. 'He just looks so HAPPY!' seems to be the general sentiment.

Also, there's a few quick cameos in the background, including Cain Harlocke, Natalie Firebrand, and a certain realmwalking ninja..."
