Mani's Remarks: "I have a new favorite tool in Elements, and it is indeed the Airbrush =)

Shortly after coming up with the final version of Lily a few weeks back, I found myself thinking about The Traveler Chronicles, the story that I had written back in high school that she had come from. I started to get a little more excited about the project, and found myself doing a few sketches and redesigns of several of the other characters from it. Lady Naomi of Destratos is one such individual, a shape-shifter that joins forces with our heroes during their battles with Lord Paradox.

This was a pic that really came out of the blue, as I really and truly had no intentions of drawing Naomi that evening. However, I have to say that I was very pleased as to the way this one turned out. It was one of those sketches that I liked so much, I felt that it would have been a tragedy if I didn't at least share her on Club Ninja. If I had actually planned on this piece, I would have probably drawn here, oh, I don't know, actually shape-shifting, but I have to say that I rather enjoy this (much) more casual look at her.

Random Sidenote: "I've noticed the more that I think about redoing Chronicles, the more the roles of some of the characters change. See, originally, most of the heroes were friends of mine pulled directly into Second Realm; this gave the story that whole strangers-in-a-strange-land feel, but all the same helped ground it into reality. Over the years I've noticed that I've moved away from the characters being exact copies of my friends, to merely being inspired by them. It's always been an interesting balance, trying to keep in with the spirit of the original, while trying to 'legitimize' the story, if you will. I'm very curious to get back to work on it, as I haven't done anything Second Realm-related in quite some time. Also, with all of these changes, it's almost going to be a new story all-together..."
