"Stacy Lancaster"
Mani's Remarks: "Respect the little girls, especially if they're running around with weapons like this! There was a bit of experimenting that went into this one, as I normally try and move heaven and earth in order to clean up the line work before I scan a picture. After laying out the initial sketch for this one, I inked it, cleaned up a few strays, scanned it, and just went to work. There are a few little spots here and there that could stand to be cleaned up, but Stacy here was also a bit of a speed test for me. I'm planning on throwing a few quick character sketches into the book, so while a few pieces will be a bit more elaborate, there'll be some faster designs like this one in there as well. Stacy never appeared in any of our gaming sessions, but she's someone that could easily fit into the Glenshire Abbey mythos. And while I didn't originally intend it to be the case, it REALLY looks like she stole that sword from a certain angst-filled spiky blonde-haired antagonist from FFVII, Materia and all! Maybe if he didn't sit around being so Emo, he might have noticed that one of his Buster Swords was missing..." Random Sidenote: "This is one of those rare occasions where I can pinpoint how a particular character's design came about. With that being said, Stacy owes a lot of her creation to my buddy Snead. Sneed and I are both avid fans of the Soul Calibur series and in fact as I write this, I'm actually listening to the opening theme from III. Consequently, Snead and I have ended up dumping untold amounts of time into the game, including Chronicles of the Sword. Sneed's got a flair for character design that rivals my own, and one of his creations was a young Knight by the name of Stacy. She was a rather adorable young lady, with her huge anime eyes and hair in pigtails, and a rather nasty streak in brutality, as Sneed was quite fond of using two-handed swords. The sight of seeing this little girl tear into some enemies with one of the largest weapons in the game, combined with Sneed randomly shouting out 'I CUT YOU, BITCH!' in an anime-esque voice was enough to send us into hysterics from time to time. The design just kinda stuck with me, and I figured she'd be a nice character picture to throw in the book somewhere."
