Mani's Remarks: "Anelli Vandal, AKA 'Wraith'. Another NPC from Glenshire Abbey that I've been wanting to draw for some time now. She popped up in a session as the captain of 'The Untouchables', a team of magic-users competing in the Trifecta tournament- basically, think of it as a rather unhealthy hybrid of Rugby and Blitzball, where weapons and magic are allowed. Yeah, that tournament got pretty ugly =) Wraith's a little different from most magic users, as she'll typically manifest her energies into the shapes of physical weapons, as opposed to spell casting. She's taken a liking to scythes, and with her personality and manner of dress, it wasn't long before she picked up the nickname 'Wraith'. I had the character concept for a while now, with a few early sketches of her dating back to about three years ago. After seeing the way her personality came out in some of the gaming sessions, I opted for the more goth-inspired look. And it probably didn't help, but I watched a few episodes of Teen Titans before I colored this- I'm sure you can see more than a little bit of Raven in her. And for the record, yes, I had a LOT of fun working on that energy scythe!" Random Sidenote: "I like to have music when I'm working, and put together a playlist with songs that I felt best represented her personality. It wasn't all Evanescence, Linkin Park, or Flyleaf, mind you. I was actually surprised as to some of my other choices, which included Ordinary People by John Legend, Drum Trip by Rusted Root, and some classic David Bowie stuff (as is evidenced by Let's Dance suddenly coming up in the playlist). See, Wraith's not all doom and gloom =) "
